At Mariposa Safe Families, we are dedicated to protecting children from abuse and neglect. Part of our mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our community through parenting support groups; hosting events and campaigns on educating the public on child abuse prevention; Connecting families to support services like counseling, food assistance, and housing resources; Collaborating with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and other nonprofits to create a safety net for at-risk families; Helping families navigate systems like child welfare, courts, and law enforcement to ensure their needs are met. Teaching families how to manage stress effectively to prevent conflict and breakdowns, and promoting policies and legislation to protect children and improve resources for families, and much more!
Mariposa Safe Families supports families by offering resources, services, and programs that focus on strengthening family bonds, reducing stressors, and promoting healthy environments for children; Classes that teach effective communication, conflict resolution, and positive discipline techniques; Referrals to food banks, housing assistance programs, and utility aid for families in financial distress, food and commodity assistance in house; Assisting families during emergencies, such as domestic violence or homelessness, by coordinating with other local agencies and services; Workshops on recognizing risk factors and how to create safe home environments; Working with schools, healthcare providers, and law enforcement to create a comprehensive support network for families; Providing a safe, inclusive, nurturing environment for families and children!
Mariposa Safe Families empowers and supports Mariposa youth through programs, activities, and resources that foster personal growth, leadership skills, and resilience. Their initiatives aim to create a positive, supportive environment where young people can thrive; Teaching practical skills like communication, goal-setting, and teamwork to prepare youth for future leadership roles; Providing platforms for young people to voice their concerns and ideas, shaping programs and policies that impact them; Connecting youth with positive adult role models to guide and support them in their personal and academic lives; Offering supervised activities that promote learning, creativity, and social connection; Organizing events like sports, arts, and cultural activities to engage youth in constructive ways; Educating youth about topics such as mental health, substance abuse prevention, and healthy relationships, among so much more!
Mariposa Safe Families empowers individuals, families and youth to enhance their lives and overall well being while discovering their own strengths and giving hope through relationships and authentic caring.

Our MSF team is comprised of dedicated individuals with grassroot connections to Mariposa County. Our team is trained on Trauma Informed Care, Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, Mandated Reporting, Cultural Responsiveness, HIPAA, among many other topics which allow us to best serve our local community.
